Medical Camp @ Klang

On the 24th of July 2016, MAIUG in association with GOPIO and MediAssist4U organised a screening programme to access 42 under nourished children from SJK (T) Highlands and SJK (T) Batu Ampat at Bukit Tinggi, Klang. This programme was incorporated with the VAIRAM project which all the children are currently involved in. The team spoke about healthy lifestyle, healthy eating habits and gave a brief introduction about MAIUG. The team then proceeded to access the BMI and nourishment statuses of each child. After consultation and discussion with the children and their respective parents, it was found that the majority of the children did not have proper breakfast, had poor appetite and poor memory due to various reasons. Parents were advised to carefully monitor their child’s eating habits. The team planned on providing the children with multivitamin supplements, 3 times a week for a period of 3 months and to reassess them after 3 months. The 7 member team including 3 doctors served the children from 9.30am. The camp ended at 1.00pm.
