On the 12th of June 2016, MAIUG in association with MediAssist4U organised a one day free medical camp at the Hall of St Francis of Assisi Church, Cheras, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility programme,. The health camp was organised with the objective of providing free health check up on lifestyle related diseases and consultations based on patients’ needs. The 16 member team including 1 skin specialist, 4 general practitioners, 2 phlebotomist, 1 sonologist and 1 echocardiologist arrive at 7.00am and served 154 people. The team carried out screening for Body Mass Index (BMI), blood pressure, blood test for cholesterol and diabetic studies, eyes, skin, electrocardiogram (ECG), Echocardiogram (Echo) and Ultrasound on site. The team managed to conduct 150 blood test, 71 ECGs and 76 Echocardiograms and Ultrasounds. The National Transplant Centre of Malaysia also took part in this event to spread awareness on organ donations. The medical camp came to an end at 5.45pm.
